For the first time in its history, the fashion house Balmain will organize a special event on the occasion of its next men's show. We will be far from the models who stroll on a podium on a musical background. The parade will turn into a real festival of music.
There will of course be models, clothing creations and accessories, but everything will be presented within the framework of a series of concerts live. The date of this Balmain fashion show has been set to coincide with that of the Fête de la Musique, which is June 21. The house took advantage of this split date between Paris Fashion Week and the music festival to kill 2 birds with one stone.
Olivier Rousteing never runs out of ideas
Nothing can stopOlivier Rousteing, the designer who always seems to be one step ahead when it comes to blowing a new wind in the world of fashion while making it more accessible. The creative director of Balmain now aims to unite 2 of his passions, namely music and fashion, on the occasion of a unique event that will present fashion men Balmain spring summer 2020.
The parade will take place when the music festival is in full swing, namely June 21, 2019. The event will bring together both classical parades as well as concerts. The Jardin des Plantes has been chosen as the setting for the event, which will take the form of an open-air music festival.
An evening parade you can take part in
The parade will start at 9 p.m. French DJ Gesaffelstein will get the ball rolling. Other artists of international stature, handpicked by Olivier Rousteing, will then take over. The list has not been finalized yet.
Although almost all fashion shows are by invitation, especially when it comes to a Fashion Week, Olivier Rousteing has decided to divest himself of the codes again by offering 1,500 tickets for the general public (they will be free). See you on June 7 on the official Balmain website (https://www.balmain.com/fr) to try to be one of the 1500 lucky winners.
Donations and profits generated by the sale of merchandising products during the festival, or via the bars and snacks available on site, will be donated to the association RED, which fights against AIDS.
